PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Direct Indexing: The Next Big Industry Disrupter
Since the creation of the mutual fund in 1924, a series of disrupters have changed the way retail investors access the market. From mutual funds to index funds, to ETFs to SMAs – and now into Direct Indexing. Let’s investigate what Direct Indexing unlocks for investors and financial advisors, particularly through tax management and customization.
2025 Market & Economic Outlook
Ian will provide financial professionals with an update on the current economic environment, fixed income markets, and equity markets. Attendees will gain insights into macroeconomic trends, policy impacts, and market dynamics to help them guide client conversations and portfolio decisions. This presentation will cover a broad macroeconomic update including inflation, interest rates, market broadening, and economic trends. It will also provide insights into the fixed income market examining yield trends, credit spreads, and opportunities in bonds. Additionally, we will explore the equity market, discussing factor analysis, earnings trends, and valuation considerations. Finally, we will highlight key investment implications and strategies for positioning portfolios in the current environment.
Redefining and Articulating Value for the Modern High Net-Worth (HNW) Client
Today’s high-net-worth (HNW) clients expect more than expert technical advice — they seek advisors who can anticipate and proactively plan for needs that come with their complex enterprise, communicate with clarity and confidence, and design a plan that reflects their values, challenges, and goals. In this session, we’ll explore how to build a dynamic value proposition and client experience model that resonates with sophisticated clients. Through the lens of behavioral finance and real-world case examples, attendees will learn how to deepen trust, differentiate their services, and drive meaningful business development outcomes.
Advanced Estate Planning Topics
This advanced-level session explores sophisticated estate planning strategies designed to help high-net-worth families manage wealth transfer, minimize estate tax exposure, and ensure business continuity. The program focuses on appreciation-shifting techniques such as GRATs and IDGTs, liquidity planning approaches to meet estate obligations, and the critical integration of estate plans with succession strategies for closely held family businesses. Attendees will gain actionable insights to support complex client needs and enhance multigenerational planning conversations.
The Powers and Fiduciary Duties of Trustees in Nebraska
This session provides an in-depth overview of the legal framework governing trustees in Nebraska. Financial professionals will gain an understanding of both the powers statutorily granted to trustees and the fiduciary duties imposed upon them under Nebraska law. The program will examine the intersection of trust terms, statutory authority, and fiduciary obligations — equipping attendees to better advise clients on trust structures, trustee responsibilities, and risk considerations in estate and trust administration.
