We will explore a macro-outlook of the economy – reviewing the four markets that emerged over the last two years, the reopening of the economy, stimulus economy and expansion. The program will explore equity markets in 2021 and 10-year strategic positioning.

This presentation will explore key issues to consider when looking at retirement planning. We will cover external factors that affect finances in retirement and the steps you can take to ensure you are prepared for financial stability.

• 11AM: How Much Life Insurance Do I Need? Eryka Morehead, Collaborative Planning Group

How much life insurance do my clients really need? This presentation will discuss how to come up with the right amount of life insurance for your client and how to manage client expectations with regards to lifestyle after a premature death or disability. Hear real-life examples to further understand how life insurance fits into the financial planning process. (Rescheduled from July’s CE meeting)

• 1PM: Navigating Non-Compete Agreements Under Nebraska Law, Aaron Clark, McGrath North

This presentation will provide a legal update regarding the enforcement of covenants not to compete and other post-employment restrictions under Nebraska law.  We will also discuss recent actions taken by the Biden Administration in an effort to restrict or limit the enforcement of covenants not to compete. The presentation will cover multiple topics including non-competition and non-solicitation restrictions applicable to customers and employees, post-employment confidentiality and trade secret protection as well as an employee’s duty of loyalty to his or her employer.

• 2PM: Bitcoin, Blockchain and the Nebraska Financial Innovation Act, Matthew McKeever, Burnett Wilson Law

This program is designed to provide a discussion and further understanding of cryptocurrency, including Bitcoin and Blockchain. Cryptocurrency transactions, once relatively uncommon, are becoming increasingly popular and mainstream. This heightened popularity is attracting the scrutiny of the IRS, SEC, and other regulatory bodies. In this course, attendees will gain an understanding of common virtual currency terminology and transactions as well as explore top issues facing their clients and the industry.
